Newly Appointed US Ambassador in Awe of “Boogsie’s” Natural Talents

As part of her first official tour of the Capital City of Port-of-Spain, newly appointed United States Ambassador Candace Bond, visited Dr. Len “Boogsie” Sharpe at HADCO Phase II Pan Groove’s pan yard on Tuesday December 13, 2022. The visit was one of many scheduled activities and started with the proverbial doubles run in downtown Port-of-Spain, followed by a tour of Chancellor Hill and Maracas Bay.

According to Ambassador Bond’s Public Affairs Team, she is a former Business Consultant and Music Executive. In 1992, she was appointed to act as Vice President of Special Markets and Catalog Development for Motown Records and followed this in 1997 by becoming the Vice President and General Manager of Entertainment for Essence magazine. There, she oversaw the development of all branded business and marketing initiatives in the areas of film, television, DVD, music, radio and live entertainment. As such, it was only fitting that she met with one of this country’s most acclaimed musical icons in the steelpan fraternity.
